Our Services

ATAP’s comprehensive approach allows us to take the entire journey with members. This program has been built specifically towards union members, retirees, and their families. It’s about members helping members, and that’s what life as a union member is about.

MEMBER SUPPORT – DEDICATED TOLL FREE 24/7 EMPLOYEE ACCESS

ATAP provides toll-free access to information, intervention, and triage 24 hours a day with a licensed and/or certified professional.

EDUCATION AND AWARENESS TRAININGS

As part of ATAP’s Preventive Education Initiative, a 2-hour training course is available to all unions. During this 2-hour training course, members are provided with information on Substance Use Disorder, Mental Health, and Suicide Awareness. Members are provided with valuable information to apply to not only themselves but also their families and coworkers. Brief educational programs are available for union meetings which cover many areas of substance use and mental health issues. In addition, our staff is available to design educational programs to meet the needs of a particular union.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT

ATAP’s counselors will provide referrals to qualified licensed mental health and chemical dependency professionals for billable treatment as clinically appropriate. ATAP care managers will review assessment and treatment planning services from mental health and chemical dependency. Approval of on-going care is determined by medical necessity and the specific clinical needs of each member within the benefit plan guidelines.

CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION

As part of ATAP services, we have the capability to adjudicate, process, and pay claims for mental health and drug and alcohol treatment. Claims administration includes monthly Utilization Reports containing pertinent information including provider, member identification, services rendered, dates of service, amounts charged, amounts paid, and amounts saved. This allows for financial assurance and a true understanding for Fund Administrators that spending is specific to behavioral health services.

COMMUNITY CARE SUPPORT COORDINATION

ATAP counselors will coordinate with members and behavioral health care providers to coordinate community care support services that serve their needs.

RETURN TO DUTY

ATAP’s counselors will ensure a smooth transition for a member’s return-to-work agreement and orientation along with continuing to support the member’s successful employment.
